Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma inaugurated multiple development schemes under the Margherita Municipal Board on Wednesday, January 8. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Margherita Municipal Board office, drawing the presence of key officials and local leaders.
Prominent attendees included Margherita Municipal Board Executive Officer Dheeraj Bhattacharya, Board Chairman Anand Kumar Sharma, BJP presidents from Margherita Sadar, Block, and Town units, as well as 10 ward commissioners and a significant number of residents.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Bhaskar Sharma announced that a total of 30 development schemes have been launched, funded under the 15th Central Finance Commission and the 6th State Finance Commission, with a combined budget allocation of ₹1.17 crore. These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, including the construction and repair of drains, roads, and sub-roads across all 10 wards under the municipal board's jurisdiction.
Margherita Municipal Board Chairman Anand Kumar Sharma highlighted the comprehensive nature of the projects, emphasizing their potential to enhance the quality of life for residents.
In his address, Bhaskar Sharma urged citizens to actively participate in efforts to make Margherita a clean and beautiful town. He expressed gratitude to both the Union and Assam governments for their support in driving the region’s development forward.
