Assam mulls to admit 100 students at Pragjyotishpur Medical College next academic year

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the media today after launching several healthcare services at Pragjyotishpur Medical College, Birubari, aimed at improving the state’s medical infrastructure.

Sarma highlighted the steps taken to enhance healthcare services at the medical college, including efforts to increase student intake, with plans to admit 100 students in the next academic year. 

He also emphasized the launch of a Mega Cancer Screening initiative, targeting one crore people, as part of a comprehensive health drive.

Furthermore, Sarma announced the introduction of new software designed for efficient management across medical colleges, ensuring better resource allocation and administration. 

These measures, he stated, are part of the state government's ongoing commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality in Assam.
