In a unique example of Hindu-Muslim unity, a youth from Chapar in Dhubri district renovated a Durga temple on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja festivities.
The young man identified as Amrit Badshah is a social activist who took on the task of renovating the Durga Temple last year and successfully completed the construction of the 59-year-old temple.
"Last year I had publicly announced that whatever repair, construction work is left for this particular Durga Temple, I will do diligently. Today, with the members of the temple committee, will inaugurate the temple on this auspicious occasion. Wishing all the people of Assam on the occasion of Durga Puja. Some miscreants are trying to create tension between the people and break the brotherhood feeling that exists. Our pride, our brotherhood cannot be broken or disturbed by anyone", said the Muslim youth while speaking to the reporters.
The young social activist appealed to the people of all castes and religions to maintain brotherhood, harmony among the residents of Chapar.
Amrit Badsha who is also the secretary of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee with the help of local youths renovated the Durga temple at Shalkosa with the cooperation of the people.
