Assam: Over 200 Congress workers join Trinamool Congress in Baksa

In a significant shift, over 200 Congress workers from the Salbari Block Congress have made a decisive move by joining the Trinamool Congress. The transition unfolded during a joining meeting held at Saudarvitha, Baksa, where Gauri Shankar Sarania, the Trinamool Congress candidate for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency presided over the event.

At the gathering, Gauri Shankar Sarania expressed confidence in the Trinamool Congress's prospects in the upcoming elections, claiming a resounding victory of 100 per cent in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat. He further articulated his optimism in securing approximately 550,000 votes.

Following the event, Sarania pledged to address the concerns and issues faced by the people once elected as the representative of the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency. Moreover, he took a firm stance against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, levying strong criticisms against his administration.

In a statement, Gauri Shankar Sarania remarked, "With all due respect to Mamata Banerjee didi and TMC leader Ripun Bora, our Salbari Congress bloc is drawing inspiration from them. Today, our main focus is the transition of our bloc to Assam Trinamool Congress. We'll be replacing the Congress banner at our office with the Trinamool Congress banner. Approximately 200 members will be joining us today."

The shift in allegiance marks a significant development in the political dynamics of Baksa, signaling potential implications for the upcoming elections.
