Assam: Panic grips after mysterious explosion rocks Kasudaram under Cachar district

Panic gripped Rahman Nagar area under Kasudaram police station after a mysterious explosion took place at a tea estate on April 25.

As per preliminary reports, the explosion took place at around 9.30 pm, but no casualties were reported. However few of the teak trees in the vicinity were damaged suggesting some miscreants behind the incident.

DIG South Assam Sanmandal Mandal Konkan Jyoti Saikia and Cachar Superintendent of Police Nomal Mahatta were present at the spot along with two other top police officials.

Police suspect the hand of some miscreants behind the incident who might have tied locally manufactured explosives around a teak tree. Authorities have denied any ID blast.

Meanwhile, the Police have begun their investigation into the incident and have urged people not to panic.
