Assam police seize illegal drugs worth Rs 3 crore in Sribhumi, 4 arrested

Four people were arrested as Assam police seized drugs worth Rs 3 crore on December 6 in Sribhumi. Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at Radha Peyari Bazaar.

 

In the raid, police officials recovered 60 boxes of soap, containing 670 grams of suspected heroin, hidden in a secret compartment of a car.

Following the arrest of the drug carriers, including Jasim Uddin, Tarahad Hussain, and Zakir Hussain, the police arrested the main drug supplier, Saif Uddin, from the Deforella area in Patharkandi. 

 

The drugs had said to be smuggled from Champhai in Mizoram.

 

Further investigation is underway.
