Assam: Police vehicle collides with dumper in Lokhra, OC narrowly escapes

A police vehicle collided with a moving dumper leaving a trail of destruction in its wake near Lokhra, Guwahati. The incident narrowly spared the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dharamtul Police Station who was en route from Jalukbari to Khanapara when the mishap occurred.

The ill-fated police vehicle identified by its registration number AS 30 9096 crashed into a dumper bearing registration number AS 25 FC 2229 both vehicles traveling in the same direction. The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portion of the police vehicle suffered extensive damage rendering it nearly unrecognizable.

Eyewitnesses recounted the horrific scene unfolding on the flyover in Lokhra where the accident unfolded. Among the casualties were the seriously injured OC and six accompanying policemen who were rushed to the hospital by the Basishtha traffic police for urgent medical attention.

Prompt response from the authorities saw the police team swiftly administered first aid, mitigating the immediate consequences of the tragic event.
