With Lok Sabha elections drawing closer, many leaders from the ruling BJP party have been shifting its base to other parties.
Amid the ruling BJP alliance continuing its efforts to woo the people by holding one public meeting after another, party meetings, etc. continuously to save the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, secretaries of the two districts of the ruling BJP party, Subarna Barua and Jasmin Brahmi, joined the BPF with 247 members respectively.
More than 500 workers of parties like BJP, UPPL formally joined the BPF at a joining ceremony held at the Central BPF office in Kokrajhar town. BPF vice-president and former BTC deputy chief Khampha Bargyari, West Kokrajhar assembly constituency MLA Raviram Narzary, former minister Pramila Rani Brahma, Dotma council constituency councillor Prakash Brahma welcomed all the newcomers' leaders and workers who joined the BPF with a gamosa.
Speaking to the media, BPF vice-president Khampha Borgyari said the decision to vote for the BPF in the upcoming elections has already been taken by the people.
On the other hand, Subarna Barua, one of the BJP's correspondents from Kokrajhar district, joined the BPF and criticised the BJP and directed that only mail meetings be held in Kokrajhar but did not take stock of the condition of the party workers.
