The clash occurred near the Agamoni Block Development Office, just ahead of the scheduled swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected panchayat president, vice-president, and members.
Eyewitnesses said a verbal altercation between supporters of the two groups quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, creating chaos at the venue.
The exact reason behind the dispute remains unclear, though it is believed to be linked to disagreements over the formation and leadership of the panchayat body.
