Assam signs Rs 2.23 lakh crore worth of MoUs; focus on MSMEs & indigenous businesses

Assam Minister Bimal Bora announced that a total of 268 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed as part of the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit, with a combined investment commitment of Rs 2.23 lakh crore.

Out of the 268 MoUs, 36 are non-financial, focusing on knowledge partnerships, skill development, and guest collaborations, while 232 MoUs are financial, accounting for the massive investment figure.

Bora emphasized that the scrutiny process will be conducted before moving forward with the implementation of these agreements. He highlighted that the Assam Cabinet has already approved Rs 1.22 lakh crore worth of investments from the MoUs signed so far.

"Our government has actively worked to strengthen the MSME sector and indigenous businesses, staying in touch with startups and rural enterprises. We are also in discussions with the Tripura Chief Minister to explore collaborative opportunities," Bora stated.

Expressing optimism, he added, "I am hopeful that our indigenous businesses, rural sector, and MSMEs will greatly benefit from the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit."
