Assam: Surgery half done, hospital authorities ask patient to shift to another hospital

In a shocking incident, a patient was directed to be shifted to another hospital after a surgery that was half done, as alleged by the patient's family. The patient's family alleged that the hospital authorities had also demanded money from them even after giving their Ayushman card.

A heated situation took place at Binapani Nursing Home in Barpeta Road, Assam as the patient's family even after following all directions prescribed by one doctor Abulaiz Muktaz Ahmed who was supposed to conduct the surgery of the patient for gallblader stone. 

The family also claimed that the patient, a 60-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by Dr Abulaiz Muktaz Ahmed.

As per preliminary reprots, the doctor instructed the family to take the woman to the operation room and send her to The Barpeta Hospital halfway through the surgery. Angry over the conduct of the doctor and the hosptial authorities, a commotion ensued inside the hospital, with police reaching the spot to take bring the situation under the control. Meanwhile, the doctor who was looking after the patient's treatment fled from the scene after providing a cheque.

Soon after the incident, an organization called Hindu Suraksha Sena Assam raised slogans against Binapani Nursing Home and demanded strict action against the doctor.
