Assam: Tea garden worker dies in freak accident in Tinsukia, angry crowd gathers at incident spot

In a tragic incident, a tea garden labourer met his end in an unexpected mishap at a tea factory in Tinsukia district of Assam. The mishap reportedly took place at the Rup Narayan Sarma tea garden located in Pengeri's No 1 Ambikapur village.

The labourer who lost his life has been identified as Amit Gowala, as per sources. Reports suggest that Amit's life was cut short after he came in contact with the sharp blades of a tea leaves cutting machine while he was working at the factory.

In a recent incident, the Pengeri Police were called to the scene. The locals of Pengeri, upset by the incident, surrounded the tea garden owner's residence and initiated a large-scale protest.

The police, however, managed to control the situation. The body of the deceased labourer has been transported to Tinsukia for post-mortem, according to sources.
