Assam: Teenage girl forced to abandon studies, work as daily wage labourer to look after minor brothers

Life took a tragic turn for 17-year-old Banti Barman after her parents and elder brother passed away in Assam’s Bongaigaon in an unfortunate incident, leaving behind a family of three young kids.

Banti Barman has been forced to abandon her studies after life took a tragic turn, leaving her alone to feed to her two young brothers. Banti now works as a daily wage labourer.

Spending a life of destitute, Banti and her two young brothers are waiting for some kind of help from the government in order to pass this phase of hard times.

As per reports, Banti and her two young brothers are resident of Nayapara in Bashbari under Bongaigaon district. After the demise of her parents and elder brother, Banti is the only earning member left in the family of three now. 

Due to unavailability of government facility or schemes, the three young kids are now staring at a dark future.
