Assam: Teenage girl’s patriotic song touches hearts at Indo-Bangladesh border on Republic Day eve

On the eve of Republic Day, the town of Golakganj in Dhubri district, located near the Indo-Bangladesh border, was filled with patriotic fervor as the melodic voice of a teenage girl resonated through the air.

Tanuja Karmakar, a Class VIII student from Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan, stole the spotlight with her heartfelt rendition of patriotic songs, leaving a lasting impression on all who heard her. Tanuja’s performance has quickly captured attention, symbolizing the unity and pride that reverberate in this strategically significant border region.

Her soulful tribute was delivered at the Mini Stadium Ground in Golakganj, which is hosting the Republic Day celebrations for the first time. This year, for the first time in history, the national flag will be hoisted at this venue, marking a historic moment for Golakganj and its border community.

The event, held on the eve of India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, underscores the spirit of patriotism and national unity, even in this sensitive border area. As the nation prepares to honor its Republic Day, Tanuja’s performance serves as a powerful reminder of the values of solidarity and pride that bind the country together.
