Assam: Tense situation erupts at Karimganj district Congress office amid allegations of BJP collusion

A tense confrontation erupted at the district Congress office in Karimganj, Assam, following the recent Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The discord unfolded in the presence of Hafiz Rashid Ahmed, the Congress candidate for the Karimganj constituency. 

Accusations were hurled, branding MLA Kamalaksha Dey Purkayastha and district Congress secretary Kayum Talukdar as BJP collaborators.

Allegations surfaced that Kayum Talukdar was working on behalf of Kamalaksha Dey Purkayastha, intensifying the situation. The tensions reached a peak during a press conference attended by Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury at Indira Bhavan, leading to a heated exchange.

The volatile situation was eventually brought under control through the intervention of district leadership, restoring a semblance of calm to the office.
