Assam Police in Kharupetia arrested one person for allegedly slaughtering a cow for a ceremony that was held at the arrested man's residence.
As per reports, Abdur Rafiq, a resident of Netaji Nagar, reportedly killed the cows as part of a child's Akika ceremony, in adherence to Islamic traditions.
According to Rafiq's family, the slaughter occurred within the confines of their walled property. However, local Hindu residents alerted the police, prompting a raid on Rafiq's house. The police team seized the beef and arrested Abdur Rafiq.

The situation has escalated as seven Hindu organizations have lodged formal complaints against Rafiq at the Kharupetia police station. Authorities have sent the seized beef for examination by veterinary doctors and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
The incident has generated a strong reaction from the community. Abdur Rafiq remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
