Assam: Tension flares up in Hajo’s Amdala over alleged cash distribution ahead of village council polls

A late-night commotion gripped Amdala in Assam’s Hajo Damapur area after locals intercepted a vehicle allegedly involved in cash distribution linked to the upcoming village council elections.

According to sources, money was reportedly being handed out in support of Merina Begum, a candidate contesting for a member's seat in the village council.

The situation escalated as residents detained the vehicle and several individuals suspected to be part of the distribution network.

Tensions ran high in the area, prompting concerns over electoral malpractice and demands for strict action against those involved.
