Tension prevailed in the Katigora area of Assam’s Cachar district following the death of a pregnant woman during childbirth at a private hospital.
The incident occurred in Kalain Digambar, triggering unrest among local residents and the victim’s family.
According to the bereaved family members, the woman was allegedly made to deliver without the presence of a qualified doctor. They have accused the hospital staff of negligence, claiming that the delivery was conducted solely by attendants, which led to the woman’s death.

The grieving family created a tense atmosphere within the hospital premises, demanding justice and action against those responsible. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Arun Kumar, a resident of the same locality.
However, there appears to be a discrepancy in the reported name, as Arun Kumar is a male name and may reflect an error in the initial report.
The incident has sparked outrage in the area, with locals demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement.
