A joyous Rongali Bihu celebration organised by the Digboi Traders' Association took a disturbing turn on Sunday night when a woman was reportedly stabbed amid an ongoing musical performance.
Renowned Bengali singer Marmita Mitra was performing live on stage as part of the cultural segment of the Bihu event when chaos broke out among the audience.
While the crowd enjoyed the melodious performance, a violent altercation erupted nearby, escalating quickly and resulting in the stabbing of a woman.

Eyewitnesses reported multiple scuffles breaking out simultaneously, causing panic and confusion in the area. The situation turned tense as an unruly youth allegedly triggered a brawl that disrupted the festive atmosphere.
The incident has raised questions about the lack of adequate security measures at public gatherings. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, and further details about the victim's condition are awaited.
Police are investigating the matter and are expected to take action against those involved in the incident.
