Gossaigaon Police have apprehended two notorious drug peddlers, Hasan Ali and Samsul, believed to be the masterminds behind an active drug network operating in the region.
According to police sources, the operation was launched on Sunday evening around 7 PM in Habrubil, where Samsul—a well-known figure in the local drug trade—was arrested. Based on information provided by him during interrogation, police conducted a follow-up raid in Babubil village and successfully nabbed another key peddler, Hasan Ali.
During the operation, the police seized a significant quantity of narcotics along with a Honda scooter (registration number AS-16-K-4861) and a CB Jet motorcycle (registration number AS-16-D-0890) believed to have been used in the illegal trade.

Local residents and concerned citizens have long accused Samsul and Hasan Ali of luring the youth into drug addiction and ruining lives in the area. Reports suggest that Samsul received hundreds of phone calls in the evening hours from drug users, many of whom were caught on video desperately inquiring if “the stuff” was available.
Police have registered a case against both the accused and presented them before the court.
