An 18-year-old resident of Kailakhat village, lost his life after falling into the Diphlu river in Bokakhat. The deceased was identified as Sarat Tamuli.
The young man had been reported missing since late in the evening, prompting a frantic search and rescue operation.
The discovery of Sarat Tamuli's clothes and sandals near a sink in the Diphlu river intensified concerns about his whereabouts. Police, along with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel and local villagers, immediately mobilized search efforts throughout the night along the riverbanks.
Despite the exhaustive search efforts, it wasn't until the following morning that Sarat Tamuli's body was finally recovered from the Diphlu river. The tragic incident has left the community in mourning and serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by water bodies, especially during monsoon season when water levels can fluctuate unpredictably.
