A devastating incident unfolded in Kusumpur, Mayong, where a 7-year-old boy lost his life after falling into the Pakaria river and drowning. The name of the deceased boy is Vishal Das. The tragedy occurred while Vishal was playing with his friends on the riverbanks.
According to eyewitnesses, Vishal fell into the river during play, prompting immediate response from nearby residents who managed to pull him out. Despite their efforts, Vishal was pronounced dead upon arrival at Jhargaon Hospital.
Authorities from the Mayong police swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the situation. The deceased child was later sent to Morigaon for postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
The incident has deeply affected the local community, leaving family, friends, and neighbors in mourning over the loss of young Vishal Das. Officials are urging caution, particularly around water bodies, to prevent similar tragedies.
