Assam: Two drug peddlers from Dhubri arrested with heroin in Chirang

In a major crackdown on narcotics, police from Kajalgaon Police Station in Chirang district arrested two drug peddlers at Borotalowa market.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Anuwar Hussain (28) and Lal Chand Badsha (30), both residents of Jhagara Par under Dhubri district. 

The duo had reportedly arrived at Borotalowa market on an Apache motorcycle bearing registration number AS 18M-7792 with the intention of purchasing drugs.

Acting swiftly, the police apprehended them and recovered 11 grams of suspected heroin packed in one packet from their possession.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the duo had purchased the heroin for Rs 37,000 from two individuals named Gani and Mithun from Bijni. They were arrested on their way back after the transaction.

Kajolgaon police have registered a case, and further investigation is underway to trace the full network behind this drug operation.
