Two criminals involved in the brutal murder of a teacher in Manipur have been arrested from the Ramkrishnanagar area of Sribhumi.
Acting on a tip-off and with the support of Sribhumi police, Manipur police apprehended Abis Uddin and Saif Uddin from Mohanpur village in Ramkrishnanagar.
They were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court and sent back to Manipur under a transit permit.
The accused, residents of Sribhumi district, had earlier operated a garage for vehicles in Manipur.

According to the police, on May 20, the murdered teacher, A.S. Thotsang, had come to the garage for vehicle repairs. It was then that the two brothers allegedly attacked and killed him, stealing his vehicle, mobile phone, cash, and other valuables before fleeing.
Manipur’s Ukhrul police launched an investigation, which led them to Sribhumi. Coordinated efforts between the two state police forces resulted in the arrest of the suspects from Ramkrishnanagar, Sribhumi.
The arrest marks a significant step in the swift justice process for the heinous crime.
