Assam: Wild elephant attacks forest official in Nagaon

In an incident in Kasuwa, Nagaon wild elephants wreaked havoc injuring Pahartoli sub forest division officer, Siraj Ali. The officer sustained serious injuries while attempting to chase away the elephants.

The attack resulted in significant damage including the demolition of a house and destruction of a betel nut garden. The elephants, whose herd is still located in the Sankhola area caused chaos in the region.

As a result of the attack, Siraj Ali has been seriously injured and is being transferred to Nagaon for better medical treatment. The incident highlights the ongoing issue of human-wildlife conflict in the area posing risks to both residents and forest officials alike.
