Assam: Wine shop sealed in Kaliabor for selling illegal Arunachalee liquor

The excise department has taken decisive action against illicit liquor trade, sealing a black wine shop located in in Assam's Kaliabor for allegedly storing and selling illegal liquor. 

The shop, operating within a government-licensed framework, was targeted by authorities following suspicions of unlawful activities.

In a coordinated effort, the excise department, accompanied by an executive magistrate, sealed the premises, effectively halting the sale of liquor from the establishment. 

The closure comes in response to concerns over the storage and distribution of illegal spurious liquor from the shop.

During the operation, the excise department seized a quantity of illegal luxury Arunachali liquor from the premises, further underscoring the seriousness of the alleged offenses. 

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the director of the wine shop, aiming to uncover any complicity in the illegal activities.

Meanwhile, the owner of the wine shop, identified as Putul Gogoi, is reportedly absconding, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing probe. 

Gogoi's whereabouts remain unknown as authorities intensify efforts to locate and apprehend the individual.
