An unusual incident involving a love affair has come to light under the jurisdiction of Fakiragram Police Station in Assam's Kokrajhar district.
Following the tragic end of a six-year-long romantic relationship, a young woman has begun a hunger strike demanding justice. She staged the protest, presenting printed copies of WhatsApp messages as evidence of the relationship.
According to the woman, she had been in a serious relationship for the past six years with a youth named Abdul Kalam from Chokapara village under Fakiragram Police Station. She alleges that Abdul Kalam lured her with promises of marriage and engaged in a physical relationship with her multiple times. However, he later broke off the relationship and now refuses to marry her, going back on his promises.
Devastated by the betrayal, the woman reportedly attempted suicide but was saved and later received treatment at Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital. She has since filed a formal complaint against Abdul Kalam in the Kokrajhar Court.
