Assam: Woman misses out on Orunodoi scheme despite featuring in advertisement leaflet

The Assam state government has been implementing various schemes to relieve the poor people at various times. However, some poor people have complained that they have not received the schemes despite repeatedly running after them.

Woman from Bahjani village under 5 No. Uttar Pachim Gaon Panchayat of Bongaon Development block from the 28 no. Boko- Chaygaon LAC in Kamrup district have been shocked by Assam state government's strange activities. The married woman named Junu Boro alleged that she has been deprived from the state government's ambitious scheme 'Orunodoi', even after her portrait in the same scheme's advertisement leaflet. The couple is currently in a state of shock with the government's advertisement cover photo of the Orunodoi scheme.

It is to be mentioned that the state government has launched an ambitious scheme for women below the poverty line in Assam on 2nd October 2020. The Assam government is offering around ₹1000 per month under the Orunodoi Scheme to the qualified state resident households so they may purchase basic food products.

Junu Boro also alleged that she applied for the Orunodai Schemes three times, but she didn't get one. However her neighbours women from the same village already benefit from the scheme. While asking about her photo on the scheme advertisement leaflet, she replied that it was the first time she came to know from her friends in the market and later personally checked the leaflet. She also said that sometimes different people take photos of her while she is in the market.

The couple now urged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma to give the benefits of the Orunodoi scheme as the photos have been published. Junu Boro, who is still also deprived of government houses, told the media that she has been selling vegetables in Bamunigaon market three days a week to support her poor family.

While asking the matter to the Circle officer of the Chaygaon circle office Chiranjit Das, he replied that he had no such kind of information regarding this matter. However, he gave assurance that he will discuss the matter with the Bongaon Development Block Officer and the family will benefit from the scheme very soon.
