Assam: Youth arrested in Karimganj for allegedly hacking Facebook, YouTube accounts

A youth from Karimganj has been arrested on allegations of hacking Facebook and YouTube accounts. Shyamal Roy, a resident of Karimganj, is accused of engaging in unauthorized activities on social media platforms for financial gain, specifically by manipulating viewer counts and followers. The incident came to light when Tupchi Nath, a woman from Silchar, discovered that Roy had taken control of her Facebook page without her consent.

Nath, who was managing the page noticed unauthorized activity by Roy and promptly reported the matter to the authorities. Subsequently a case was registered at the Karimganj Sadar police station, leading to Roy's detention for questioning.

The police investigation aims to unravel the details surrounding the alleged hacking and ascertain the true nature of the incident. The victim, Nath expressed concern over the unauthorized access to her social media accounts, prompting swift action from law enforcement.
