Bongaigaon river aie turns calamitous due to rising floodwaters

High alert sounded in Bongaigaon after river Aie swells beyond danger mark bringing immense misery to the people in the area. 
Kacharipati Primary School situated in North Abhayapuri, under Bongaigaon Vidhan Sabha, block no - 580, washed away by the heavy current of the swelling Aie River. 
Residents residing along the banks of River Aie are troubled of the rising threat from the River Aie which might turn more treacherous in the coming days if rains continue to pound the state. 
Blocks 1, 2 and 3 of Kacharipati area are surrounded by flood waters. 

According to reports, the Aie river, which flows through the district, has swelled after a strong wave of water has gushed down from the hills of Bhutan, causing it to immediately swell and overflow with heavy currents, which in turn has inundated Kacharipati, Silapara Block No 1,2 and 3. 

As per sources, many areas are already submerged under flood waters. Residents are exasperated as not a single minister or local MLA has reached to their air to take stock of the prevailing flood situation.
