The confrontation reflects growing tensions between the two alliance partners in Assam's ruling coalition, particularly at the grassroots level where local leadership struggles have become increasingly apparent.
No official statement has been released yet by local authorities or senior party leaders from either side. However, the incident has sparked concerns about internal rifts within the coalition and the deteriorating political discipline among cadre-level workers.
Further investigation is expected to be initiated by district authorities to ascertain the sequence of events and ensure such incidents do not recur.
