Garima Garg seeks withdrawal of FIRs against Siddharth before Zubeen’s last journey

Ahead of the final rites of late singer Zubeen Garg, his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, has urged the public to withdraw all FIRs filed against Siddharth, a close aide of the singer, highlighting his crucial role in supporting the family.

In a heartfelt video message, Garima Garg appealed to the people of Assam and the authorities, saying, “Please allow Siddharth to be part of Zubeen’s final journey. I request everyone to set aside any negative thoughts about Siddhart. I need all my people around me tomorrow, and I will need Siddhart’s support—without him, I cannot do anything.”

She recounted Siddhart’s unwavering support during challenging times, including when Zubeen suffered a massive seizure in 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic restricted access to resources. Siddhart not only helped the family with food and supplies but also brought Zubeen back from Mumbai by bus for treatment.

“Zubeen has many unfinished tasks, and I cannot complete them alone. I also request that all FIRs filed against Siddhart be withdrawn,” she added, emphasising that he has been like a brother to the singer since the beginning.

The message comes amid heightened emotions as fans and well-wishers throng Zubeen Garg’s residence in Kahilipara to pay their final respects. Police and the state administration are providing full support to ensure a peaceful last journey for the beloved singer.

Garima Garg’s appeal highlights both the personal significance of Siddhart’s presence and the legal angle surrounding the FIRs, which have drawn public attention in the wake of Zubeen Garg’s untimely demise in Singapore.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Northeast India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen Garg's manager Siddharth Sharma, and others under relevant BNS sections in connection with Zubeen Garg’s untimely demise on September 19.

The investigation has been taken up by the CID Special Investigation Team (SIT).
