GNRC Hosts Global Meet on Brain Bleed & Neurointervention

GNRC Hospitals, a pioneer in advanced and affordable healthcare in Northeast India, successfully hosted an International Workshop and Symposium on Chronic Subdural Hematoma (cSDH) and Neurointervention, in collaboration with the Balt Group.

The event took place at GNRC Hospitals, Dispur, drawing specialists and experts from across the region and abroad.

The workshop, held at GNRC’s advanced neurovascular Cathlab, focused on the evolving techniques in managing chronic subdural hematoma, with particular emphasis on the promising role of Middle Meningeal Artery (MMA) embolisation, a minimally invasive procedure gaining traction worldwide.

In the evening, a high-level symposium provided a platform for vibrant academic exchange, showcasing live case discussions, emerging therapies, and cutting-edge advancements in the treatment of neurovascular conditions.

The event saw active participation from renowned medical professionals representing diverse disciplines from across Northeast India, reinforcing GNRC’s reputation as a hub for both academic and clinical excellence.

Key speakers included:

Dr. Manuel Moreu Gamazo, Associate Professor of Neurointervention, Hospital Clinico San Carlos, Madrid

The unit performs over 700 procedures annually and treats more than 1,000 outpatients, maintaining an outstanding morbidity and mortality rate of less than 1%.

“This workshop and symposium reflect GNRC’s unwavering commitment to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, and bringing world-class care to the region,” said Dr. Firdaus Ahmed, organiser and Senior Consultant – Neurointervention. “Such academic forums not only enhance doctors’ skills but also directly contribute to better patient outcomes.”

With this milestone event, GNRC once again reaffirmed its role as a regional leader in promoting minimally invasive medical innovation and cultivating a strong culture of academic and clinical progress.
