Guwahati: 101 Geetanagar homes go piped, Himanta Biswa Sarma backs PNG transition

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged residents of Guwahati to opt for Piped Natural Gas (PNG), calling it a safer, more economical, and convenient alternative to traditional LPG cylinders.

"I encourage the people of Guwahati to subscribe to the Piped PNG Gas (PPGL) service. It is a safer, more economical and convenient alternative to LPG, delivered directly to your home," said Dr. Sarma.

Backed by growing adoption, nearly 101 households in the Geetanagar area of Guwahati have already availed themselves of the PNG connection. The initiative promises uninterrupted gas supply without the hassle of cylinder refills and aligns with the state’s clean energy goals.

The state government continues to promote PNG services as part of its broader strategy to ensure safe and efficient energy access to urban households.
