Hagrama Mohilary returns to power: First Assembly session of new BPF-led BTC govt held

The first assembly session of the newly formed Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) government in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) was held today at the Council Assembly House, Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar.

During the session, a total of 37 newly elected Members of the Council Legislative Assembly (MCLAs) took oath of office, including 28 from the BPF, five from the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), and four from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), officially marking the commencement of the new BTC government.

BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Deputy Chief Rihon Daimary were among those sworn in. The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Pro-tem Speaker Tridip Daimary.

Notably absent from the session were former BTC Chief Executive Member and UPPL president Pramod Boro, former BTC Executive Member Rakesh Brahma, and BJP leader Rekha Rani Das Boro.

The session signals a new political chapter in the Bodoland Territorial Council, with Hagrama Mohilary returning to power after nearly five years.
