Himanta Biswa Sarma to hold mega cycle rally with 8000 riders in Majuli: Minister Pijush Hazarika

Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika made a notable appearance today (March 31) in Majuli, arriving at a helipad.

Minister Hazarika's visit to Majuli is significant as he embarked on an initial observation of the Chief Minister's upcoming cycle rally with more than 7000 to 8000 rides.

The rally, spanning approximately 15 kilometers from Gadmoor Mini Stadium to Maharishuk in Kartipar, is expected to kickstart the campaign fervor for the upcoming elections.

During his visit, Minister Hazarika pledged to closely scrutinize the entire route of the rally underscoring the meticulous planning and strategizing by the ruling party ahead of the elections.

In the midst of political developments, a statement from opposition figure Akhil Gogoi hinted at internal discord within the opposition unity platform. Despite this apparent rift, Minister Hazarika exuded confidence, asserting, "Even if there is a rift, we will emerge victorious."

Adding a twist to the political landscape, Minister Hazarika recalled a past statement by Gaurav Gogoi, where he purportedly claimed that the people of Majuli did not require a bridge during the Congress government's tenure. This remark, potentially igniting debate, further underscores the evolving dynamics of the political narrative in the region.

"The trouble, Majuli people went through because of no proper road and bridge, will get covered within 2 years. Gaurav Gogoi earlier claimed that people of Majuli have not made their demand. He insulted the people of Majuli, so if people here voted for Majuli, I don't think it is a good idea", said Hazarika.

Hazarika also asserted that Congress leaders campaigning alongside Gaurav Gogoi will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), signaling shifts in allegiances and alliances as the elections draw closer.
