Himanta Biswa Sarma's administration outperformed Gaurav Gogoi on Ahom initiatives, says Ahom Organisation

The Mohan Deodhai Bailung Sammelan expressed unwavering support for the BJP government led by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma while acknowledging the commendable efforts initiated by the government in uplifting the Ahom community within a short timeframe. 

Hiren Phukan, the General Secretary of the Mohan Deodhai Bailung Sammelan, commended the proactive stance taken by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma's government in prioritizing the development of the Ahom community. Phukan highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the government through the Tai Ahom Development Council, including financial assistance, conservation projects for Charaideo heritage sites, and specific measures for the welfare of the Bailung community.

In contrast, Phukan criticized the lack of such initiatives by previous administrations. Consequently, the Mohan Deodhai Bailung Conference affirmed its continued support for Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma's government.

Furthermore, Phukan praised the government's endeavors in preserving historical sites and commemorating cultural icons such as Sukaphaa and Veer Lachit Borphukan. The government's commitment to Tai literature, culture, and education was also commended by Phukan, expressing confidence in the Chief Minister's ability to further these initiatives.

The Mohan Deodhai Bailung Sammelan, established in 1962, represents a significant organization within the Ahom community. However, MP Gaurav Gogoi's alleged failure to fulfill promises to the Ahom community has raised concerns among conference members. They question Gogoi's dedication to their cause and speculate on his future commitment if elected.

Criticism was also directed at Gaurav Gogoi for potentially overlooking the importance of the Mohan Deodhai Bailung community. Phukan emphasized the need for Gogoi to prioritize the concerns of the Ahom community and questioned his understanding of their identity.

Overall, the Mohan Deodhai Bailung Sammelan's endorsement of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma's government underscores the significant strides made in addressing the needs of the Ahom community, while also highlighting the challenges and expectations faced by political representatives like Gaurav Gogoi.
