The 457th Tirobhava Tithi of Mahapurush Jagat Guru Srimanta Sankardev, the saint-scholar and pioneer of Neo-Vaishnavism, was observed with deep reverence across Margherita today, in harmony with commemorations held throughout Assam.

From early morning, devotees, Vaishnavas, and women thronged Namghars in the region, engaging in prayers, Naam Prasanga, and devotional activities to honour the legacy of the Guru. The sound of Hari Naam reverberated across the town, filling the atmosphere with spiritual fervour.

Special observances were held at Margherita Ledo Central Namghar, Tikok Namghar, and No. 1 Borgolai Namghar, where devotees participated in day-long programs of Naam Prasanga and Dihanaam. The events drew large gatherings, underscoring the enduring influence of Srimanta Sankardev’s teachings on devotion, unity, and social harmony.

The Tirobhava Tithi of Srimanta Sankardev is one of the most important occasions in the Vaishnavite calendar, observed annually in Satras and Namghars across Assam, reaffirming the cultural and spiritual values laid down by the great saint.
