During the demonstration, protesters chanted slogans such as “Muhammad Yunus Murdabad” and “Sheikh Hasina Zindabad,” expressing anger over the killing and alleging targeted violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. As a mark of protest, an effigy of Muhammad Yunus was also burnt at the site.
The protesters demanded adequate protection for Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh and called upon the international community to take note of what they described as increasing incidents of violence.
The demonstration remained peaceful, though marked by strong slogans and symbolic acts of protest.
