Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday night, June 16, visited the blast site at Bhatiyapara in Assam's Sivasagar district and also met victims taking shelter at the relief camp set up in the premises of Bongaon High School
During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with the affected families, took stock of their grievances, and assured all necessary assistance. He announced appropriate compensation for all those affected by the incident and assured full compensation to the family of the deceased.

Dr. Sarma also ordered an investigation against the controversial non-Assamese firm named "SK Petro," reportedly linked to the blast. He stated that he is in touch with top officials of the corporation and will closely monitor updates related to the rig explosion starting Monday.

He further said he is ready to hold discussions with the Prime Minister if needed and assured that the issue will be taken up at the highest level.
In a directive to the District Commissioner, the CM asked for rescheduling examination dates for students affected by the incident to ensure they are not disadvantaged.
The Chief Minister also held discussions with the victims' families to understand their needs and concerns. He was accompanied during the visit by MLAs Akhil Gogoi and Sushanta Borgohain.
