Addressing a public rally in Assam's Chhaygaon, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a sharp attack on the media, accusing it of bias and failing to present the truth to the people.
"I once called media persons 'our friends' — ‘Media ke hamare mitra’ — but the truth is, they are not," Gandhi said.
"They no longer show the truth. They only show what Ambani, Adani, or your Chief Minister says. Modi's face, Amit Shah’s face — they run it 24 hours a day. But that makes no difference anymore."
His remarks come amid rising political tensions in Assam and across the country, with the Congress party stepping up its offensive against the BJP-led government at both the Centre and state levels.
