Students of Bir Bikram Memorial College (BBMC) in Agartala have created a thought-provoking themed pandal highlighting the recent turmoil in Bangladesh.
The installation vividly portrays the alleged destruction, including the burning of libraries, statues, and other structures, shedding light on the unrest in the neighbouring country.
Through this artistic expression, the students aim to raise awareness and spark discussions on the impact of such incidents on cultural heritage and society.
The college students have showcased books on fire, libraries burning, and the Central Shaheed Minar, a national monument located in Dhaka, Bangladesh made on thermocol sheet.

Speaking on the matter, Pritam Das, a 5th Semester student of BBMC, said that the students of Bir Bikram Memorial College, Agartala, have chosen a different theme for this year's Saraswati Puja celebration.
“Everyone is witnessing what is happening in our neighboring country, Bangladesh. We are all connected through social media and news and can see what is unfolding there. In Bangladesh, libraries are being set on fire, and statues are being demolished. Burning a library means burning books, which we cannot accept. We have tried to do something to convey a message. We don’t want such things in our country. We have seen the dangerous situation that was created there, which we don’t want. For the past two days, we have been working on this pandal. While some people were against us, others appreciated our theme. We hope Maa Saraswati spreads peace and prosperity across the world,” he added.
