United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) President and incumbent BTC Chief Executive Member (CEM), Pramod Boro, filed his nomination on Tuesday from the Dotma constituency for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections slated for September 22.
The nomination rally turned into a massive show of strength as thousands of UPPL supporters gathered in Kokrajhar. Assam Cabinet Minister UG Brahma also accompanied the party president, underscoring solidarity within the ruling camp.
Meanwhile, senior UPPL leader Khampa Borgoyari entered the fray from the Deborgaon constituency, further consolidating the party’s grassroots presence.

This was Boro’s second nomination after he filed papers from the Goibari constituency in Tamulpur on Monday, a move seen as a strategic step to widen UPPL’s electoral base.
Speaking after filing his nomination, Boro said, “The people of Bodoland have witnessed our development and governance. I am confident UPPL will return to power with a single-party majority.”
As nominations gather momentum, the BTC polls are shaping into a fierce showdown between regional heavyweights, with UPPL eyeing another term in power.
