Bodoland People's Front (BPF) President and former Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Hagrama Mohilary, along with five party candidates, filed their nominations today for the upcoming BTC elections scheduled to be held on September 22.
Hagrama Mohilary filed his nomination from the Debargaon constituency amid massive support from party workers and well-wishers. The nomination filing turned into a show of strength as hundreds of enthusiastic supporters accompanied the leaders, raising slogans and waving party flags.
The other BPF candidates who filed their nominations are:
Prakash Basumatary from Dotoma constituency
Jubiraj Brahma from Banargaon constituency

All candidates submitted their nomination papers to the respective Returning Officers in a coordinated move that underlines the party's preparedness and determination to regain power in the BTC.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Hagrama Mohilary expressed confidence in the BPF’s prospects. “We are fully prepared for the elections. People have seen our work in the past, and we are hopeful they will support us again for peace and development in the Bodoland region,” he said.
With the filing of nominations picking up pace, the political atmosphere in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) is heating up as various parties gear up for a fierce electoral battle.
