Tezpur recently witnessed a cultural spectacle as former Bollywood star Padmini Kolhapure, renowned for her roles in classics like 'Prem Rog' and 'Pyar Jhukta Nahin', connected with the rich heritage of Assam by performing the traditional Bihu dance.
Draped in authentic Assamese attire, including a 'gamkharu' (bracelet) and 'muga riha' (silk garment), Kolhapure participated in the filming of a special sequence dedicated to Bihu, celebrating the state’s cultural essence.
Prior to the shoot, the actress paid a visit to the historic Mahabhairav Temple, where she sought blessings from Lord Shiva. Speaking to the media, Kolhapure expressed admiration for Assam’s vibrant culture, distinctive attire, delectable cuisine, and breathtaking natural beauty. She highlighted her love for Assamese food and shared that Bihu dance holds a unique place in her heart.
While addressing reporters, Kolhapure voiced her disappointment regarding an incident involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, though she chose not to elaborate. She also praised India’s remarkable development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it a transformative era and expressing optimism about the nation's future.
Currently engaged in filming at various scenic locations in Tezpur, the actress remained tight-lipped about the project’s specifics but radiated enthusiasm for Assam’s culture and its picturesque landscapes.
