Tripura State Government and Airport Authority of India have signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) to construct six equipment hiring centers in Manu Block under the Dhalai District of Tripura.
Under this project, equipment needed to carry out daily works in agriculture, animal husbandry et al would be given on rent in lieu of a minimal charge so that the needy people could avail the facility.

Agartala Airport director VK Seth said, the project has been undertaken under CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in order to facilitate the farmers of rural Tripura.
"You see, in the rural areas, many of farmers involved in shifting cultivation or the daily wage laborers have no personal equipment. It becomes hard for them to go for work. Thus, a project proposal has been forwarded to us from the Manu Block demanding six equipment chambers few months ago”, Seth told Inside Northeast.

He said, in the equipment hiring centers, equipment related to agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries will be kept for rent which will be rented out to the needy farmers, Self Help Groups and to any other needy at a minimal cost.
Additional CEO of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, Manu Block, Amarto Barman receiving the first installment of the project amount told media that Manu Block was a tribal populated remote area.
“This project will benefit not less than 6,000 families residing in the area”. Notably, the total cost of the ambitious project is 43 lakh and 30 percent of the total amount—Rs 13 lakh has been released.
