NEW DELHI: Unprecedented scenes are unfolding in New Delhi as farmers protesting against the Centre's controversial laws have breached the Red Fort.

Protesters hoisted their saffron flag at the ramparts of the historic Red Fort, which led to a massive uproar, as cops soon arrived at the scene in a bid to try and stop the farmers' rampage.

A farmer protesting against the Centre's new controversial farm laws was today killed at protests in ITO, New Delhi as streets resembled a war zone due to clashes.

According to reports, the farmer's tractor turned turtle after being shot at.

Groups of protesting farmers reached Red Fort after breaching police barricades, attacking personnel and even vandalising a bus at ITO.

Groups of protesting farmers camping at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur border points of the national capital broke police barricades on Tuesday morning to force their way into the city, before the time allotted by the Delhi Police for their tractor parade.

The farmer unions, protesting for nearly two months against the three new Central farm laws, had said on Monday that their tractor parade would start only after the official Republic Day parade on Rajpath concluded.

However, the protest started earlier than expected, with the protesters going on a rampage.

This is a developing story.
