NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday with senior officials of districts magistrates of Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya over low vaccination coverage.

Along with these Northeastern states, Modi will also review other states with low coverage of vaccination.

Reportedly, a number of chief ministers are also expected to attend the meeting, which is scheduled to take place at 12 noon.

The primary focus of the meeting would be districts where less than 50% of the adult population has received at least one shot of the vaccine and those that have low coverage of the second dose

Recently released government data showed that Nagaland’s Kiphire (16.1) has the lowest coverage of at least one dose of the vaccine.

Recently, India achieved a major milestone in its battle against Covid-19 as cumulative vaccinations in the country crossed the 100 crore mark.

After China, which has administered more than 200 crore doses, India is only the second country to have reached the landmark of 100 crore jabs.
