Guwahati, August 14, 2019:

Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi (AVSM, VSM) General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps called on the Governor of Nagaland, R N Ravi at Raj Bhawan in capital city Kohima on Tuesday.

The Spear Corps chief discussed security issues and apprised the Governor of the actions being taken by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in coordination with other agencies, towards the maintenance of peace and tranquillity in the state.

The Governor lauded the untiring efforts of the armed forces in difficult conditions and commended them for their "people-friendly" initiatives.

It is to be mentioned that RN Ravi, the former Intelligence Bureau officer who is Centre’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, was on August 1 sworn in as the 20th governor of Nagaland, replacing the ‘people’s governor’ PB Acharya.
