Gold recovered in Mizoram

Aizawl (Mizoram), 1 Aug 2018:

In a joint operation by personnel of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and local police, 218 pieces of gold weighing 36.33 kg was recovered from Saikhumphai in Mizoram on Tuesday.

Five persons – Encinthawngal (28), Haulammang (29), Huallamthang (35), Lallianpuia (18) and Zamsawmtang (36) – have also been apprehended in this connection.

Those arrested and the seized items have been sent to Champhai.
